Intuitive Art Making Workshop

Intuitive Art Making Workshop

Creative Courage: your Intuitive art Journey

Unearth your inner wisdom. Embrace freedom from your creativity.

This workshop is designed to help you access creative courage, connect with your intuition, and unearth the deep wisdom that lives within you. Together, we’ll explore what it means to create freedom-focused art—art that invites raw honesty, emotional release, and true self-expression.

Through intuitive layering, we’ll learn to let go of overthinking and perfectionism, embracing surprise, change, and spontaneity as essential parts of the creative process. We’ll explore how contrast brings life—not only to your paintings, but also to the emotional landscape that fuels them.

🌿 What You’ll Experience:

  • 🎨 A creative journey through the full arc of the artistic process

  • 🌀 Guidance in navigating the exciting beginnings, the messy middles, and the powerful endings

  • 🖌️ Techniques for building rich, layered compositions with intuition as your guide

  • 💫 Support in moments of uncertainty, helping you build trust in your own creative instincts

  • 🌈 Exploration of color, contrast, and emotional depth

  • 💖 A nurturing environment that encourages self-acceptance, inspiration, and connection with kindred creatives

No matter your experience level, this class is an invitation to show up wholeheartedly, take creative risks, and fall in love with the process. I’ll be by your side every step of the way.

The Process

Each session begins with a gentle grounding practice—either a short guided meditation or mindful movement like yoga—to help clear the mind, relax the body, and bring us into the present moment. From this grounded space, we’re ready to explore.

Everyone has their own creative station set up with all the supplies you need. YEAH! This is also when I get to put on one of my music playlists, which are a big part of the experience. You’ll hear everything from old-school hip hop to classical—because different sounds spark different creative energies.

With a few prompts and a gentle introduction, you'll begin your own creative journey on canvas or paper. This is where the magic begins. This is where you learn to trust your instincts and let your creativity lead the way. Be ready to use your fingers, arms, and even your whole body (dress for mess) as your paintbrush.

Conscious + Creative: Couples Therapeutic Art Workshop

Conscious + Creative: Couples Therapeutic Art Workshop

Are you seeking a fresh perspective on your relationship journey?
Do you crave a therapeutic experience that goes beyond the traditional therapy room? Perhaps you're looking for a nonjudgmental space where you and your loved one can reconnect, reflect, and grow—guided by Ashley James, a compassionate professional that is a Certified Recreation Therapy, with certification in trauma-informed expressive arts, and training in the Gottman Method.

Relationship Therapeutic Art offers a creative space for partnerships in all seasons—whether you're married, dating, engaged, or long-time partners. It goes beyond talk therapy by incorporating creative expression as a powerful tool for connection. Through art-making, couples can access emotions that may be difficult to articulate, explore shared meaning, and engage in a new, often more intuitive form of communication.

In our couples art sessions, you’ll explore emotions, strengthen communication, and deepen your connection through the power of artistic expression. My goal is to help you and your partner discover new ways to connect, heal, and thrive—together.

This unique approach offers a nonjudgmental space for couples to rediscover one another—fostering deeper harmony, intimacy, and resilience within the relationship.

In these sessions, you can be expected to integrate principles from frameworks such as Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), the Gottman Method, and other therapeutic elements such as The 5 Love Languages, that will inform our arts-based approach below:

Framework - C.A.R.E.S

C: Connection - focuses on collaboration to develop background information about each partner and the relationship as a whole.

A: Accountability - emphasizes the important benefits of self-care and how each partner defines their version of self-care.

R: Rituals - clarification of each partner’s values and how to work collaboratively with one another.

E: Empathy - learn about how each partner defines their own expression of love to maintain emotional needs.

S: Support - map out your journey of life both individually and together while also considering where you want to go.

Dates:

November 16, 1-3:30pm

December 10th, 6-8:30pm

The Creative Spirit: Faith Club

I know there are some of you out there just starting in your walk with Christ. I have felt the tug and pull of God calling me to act to help others in their journey.

I have a creative brain, and often times when reading the Bible, I would get stuck—words are hard 😅. So, I’d end up drawing or painting images of the words that resonated and felt God was speaking to me. When I’d put it into imagery, things began to click and would stick with me.

There’s probably some of you out there that resonate with this, which is why I am throwing this opportunity out there for anyone that struggles with reading the Bible, or maybe you just need intentional space outside of Church to focus on your relationship with Jesus, and more so, be around other Christ followers.

This is a DONATIONS based program, which means you only pay what you feel you can.

I hope you will join me!

After you register for the event you will need to send me a photo of your pet, or the animal you want to paint, one pet per class please. You can send it as an attachment to Ashley.worksfromtheheart@gmail.com.

The photo that you decide to use needs to be in focus, or as clear as you can get it, with good lighting. It is best if it is a close up of your pet, please crop it if needed to make sure that your pet, or animal, is the key subject of your painting.

master’s series: impressionist art

"Master’s Series:  Impressionist Art" is a four session series in which we will fuse Art History along with duplicating a painting from a Master. Impressionism typically involved painting outdoors and attempted to record the changing conditions of light and atmosphere as well as their individual sensations before nature. Students will utilize multiple art mediums including watercolor paint, acrylic paint, pastels, charcoal, etc. to create a painting in the style of the featured artist. For this series, Ashley will focus on Renoir, Cezanne, Vincent Van Gogh, and Claude Monet inspired style and guide you through a series of paintings by the artist, focusing on techniques and brush strokes and blending, as well as providing fun and helpful knowledge and lessons from the great masters themselves. Come to be inspired and immerse yourself in the creative experience with us.

unWined with mindless art: batik painting on silk

unWined with mindless art: batik painting on silk

Getting into art is a fun and fulfilling hobby—especially if you’re full of ideas you’re itching to bring to life. But if traditional art classes sound a little too intense or structured for your vibe, we’ve got something different for you.

We get it: art classes can feel intimidating. The idea of sharing your work with strangers and being critiqued might be enough to keep you from signing up in the first place. And while putting yourself out there is brave (cheers to you if you do!), sometimes a little liquid courage can help ease those nerves.

Learning how to paint or draw can be rewarding—but let’s be honest, after a long day of work, juggling your kids’ school schedules and extracurriculars, sitting down to learn the fundamentals of color theory or brush technique might not be the kind of "relaxation" you're looking for.

That’s where Mindless Art comes in.

This isn’t your typical art class. It’s a low-pressure, chill experience where you can experiment with materials, play with techniques, and just… zone out. It’s not about perfecting a skill or creating a masterpiece. It’s about enjoying the process and giving your brain a break in community with others.

Yes, mindfulness—doing things with intention and focus—is great. But sometimes, letting yourself get lost in a mindless activity is just as valuable.

Come paint, play, and unwind. No rules. No pressure. Just art.

Your price includes a glass of complimentary wine from William Grassie Wine Estates.
