Beginner’s Crochet: Scrubbies & Washcloths

Dive into the world of working with your hands through crochet, where simple stitches create calm, focus, and something beautiful to take home.

One pattern with infinite possibilities! Bring a touch of charm to your kitchen or bathroom with handmade scrubbies and washcloths. Made of cotton yarn, these are suitable for face, body, and we will even use a special “scrub” yarn that makes them great for dishes. They are eco-friendly and budget-friendly because they can go in the washer and dryer. In fact, the cotton yarn gets softer with multiple washings.

In this beginner class with Guest Fiber Artist, Marisa Reinsch, we will review the essential stitches. Then we will learn about a very popular and versatile crochet pattern: the Granny Square.

The Details

  • Two and a half hours of time to learn & create

  • All materials for the project are included

  • Note: Be assured that this class is appropriate for those new to crochet. If you are interested in seeing what we did in our previous class, resources are available at Comfy Crochet Corner.

  • You are also invited to Comfy Crochet Community on Wednesday, February 19, where each person can work at their own pace. If you would like help getting started, I can show you how to make a bookmark at that time (check the appropriate box when registering).

You’ll Take Home:

  • Take home a kit with accessories and yarn to complete a set of several small scrubbies, a few large washcloths, or a combination of the two.

Ecstatic Dance | The Wellness Method

Get out of your head and into your body.

Ecstatic Dance is a no-rules movement space where you are invited to show up exactly as you are. There is no choreography, no “right” or “wrong” way to move, and nothing to perform. A DJ or curated playlist guides the journey, and you move however your body wants to move—freely, intuitively, and at your own pace.

Think of it as dancing alone in your living room except you’re surrounded by others doing the same thing.

This is a talk-free, phone-free space. No one is watching or judging you. The focus is on tuning inward, releasing what’s been held, and allowing your body to lead.

The Details

  • One and a half hours of time to explore your own movement and flow

  • Safe space to move your body freely without judgment

  • No previous dance experience necessary

What You Will Experience
