"Master’s Series:  Impressionist Art" is a four session series in which we will fuse Art History along with duplicating a painting from a Master. Impressionism typically involved painting outdoors and attempted to record the changing conditions of light and atmosphere as well as their individual sensations before nature. The impressionists used high key palettes and a variety of brushstrokes, which allowed them to be responsive both to the character and texture of the object in nature and to the impact of light on its surface. 

Students will utilize multiple art mediums including watercolor paint, acrylic paint, pastels, charcoal, etc. to create a painting in the style of the featured artist. For this series, Ashley will focus on Renoir, Cezanne, Vincent Van Gogh, and Claude Monet inspired style and guide you through a series of paintings by the artist, focusing on techniques and brush strokes and blending, as well as providing fun and helpful knowledge and lessons from the great masters themselves. No previous experience is required. All materials will be provided.
